Riri
I smack the last paw print on the paper in front of me before walking back a little to stare at the document in front of me.
A few days ago, my mumma's brother said that I was not her actual child. So I being the smart girl I am, made a pawument to declare that The Kyra Rajvanshi is my mother.
Finally taking a look at the wording carefully, I pick up the paper with my mouth before climbing down from Mumma's desk and walking out of her room to visit where she was sitting downstairs with everyone.
Down the last step, my face bumps into someone's leg, and I look up to find the mean lady staring at me with a smile.
Kaynaaz, my auntie, didn't let me eat the flowers in the garden a few days ago and then picked me up so she could carry me back inside once I finally had the chance to get some vitamin D. These humans think us cats don't need our daily dose of vitamins and skin care.
Hey, how do you think I have such flawless fur??
I look at the red cut on her cheek, the one I inflicted on her for forcing me to go back inside. Man, I almost got scolded by Mumma because of this.
But then again, she can't resist my cuteness.
Walking around the infuriating woman in front of me, I slip between the multiple pairs of legs, causing one of their owners to let out a yelp before I finally reach my mumma.
She sat on one of the big sofas with her legs crossed and tucked underneath. A pair of glasses sat on her nose while she typed something swiftly on her laptop.
My mumma is gorgeous, that's why I'm so gorgeous. Everyone in my secret cat society is jealous because I'm the prettiest cat there. Fair to say that I've multiple people chasing after me. But my standards are high.
High because my dad is so nice to my mumma. Although she doesn't really consider him my dad, she talks about him more than Oreos. So..
Ansh Sharma. That's what mumma told me what his name was. Usually, she doesn't tell me these things, because she thinks I don't understand them. And then goes on to talk in that rubbish language that she thinks is meowglish.
This Ansh dude though. He seems like the type. I mean if he was a cat, I'd definitely be impressed by him. He buys mumma books and Oreos. And apparently, he even got her Oreo cake the other day. Mumma doesn't stop yapping about him.
I look up at the said woman, only to find her smiling brightly at something someone said.
Today everyone is at our house because my smart mom called what they call a "Gay house meeting"
No idea why it's called gay. Because to me, they all seem pretty straight. Except maybe Kanishk, bro seems gay even if he's married. Or maybe it's just me holding a grudge against him.
I let out a breath at his mention before jumping onto the sofa next to Mumma.
She glances at me before her gaze turns to the paper in my mouth.
"What has my baby brought me?"
I release the paper from my mouth before she holds it up in her hands to read it.
It takes her a few minutes to read whatever is written on the page before she lets out a soft chuckle and holds up the paper to her friends.
"Ye lo. Riri's birth certificate and prove that I'm her mummy, she even put a paw print on it,"
A few snickers go around before someone tall gets up from their seat and takes hold of the paper in Mumma's hand.
My eyes travel from his black pants to his white shirt and then finally settle on his face. Kanishk Rajvanshi.
There there see, I'm her daughter.
He smiles at the page before looking at me glued against his sister's thighs.
"Okay okay, Riri is our bachi,"
He says and bends down in front of me before petting my head softly and lets out a chuckle at the soft meow that leaves my lips.
Maybe he's not so bad.
A yawn leaves my lips as I rub my head against my mom's thigh. She brings her hand to the top of my head slowly massaging the fur before moving to my ear and giving it soft scratches.
Yes right there, so nice.. I'm going to sleep now I did a lot of work.
Time skip
My eyes snap open to the sound of something crashing on the floor. My fur stands open at the sudden noise and I jump off from the couch before walking towards its source.
My ear catches the noise of someone moving in the kitchen before I slowly pad towards it. It was dark now, and considering with all the lights off, everyone had probably gone out to dinner.
"Hello?" I meow out softly, expecting for the intruder to jump out of their place but instead, I hear the knocking over of a few dishes, which causes me to sprint in the direction of the noise.
"Hello? Who's there?"
My eyes frantically move across the kitchen checking each corner until they clash with something. Bright green eyes stare back at me from the dark. They don't seem scared but rather hesitant.
And not just any eyes. Feline eyes. They blink twice before the figure emerges from the shadow, the colour of its fur as dark as the place it was hiding in.
"Who are you?"
I tilt my head slightly, and he follows along as if mocking me. When he doesn't say anything, a sense of anger rises in me.
"You intrude my house, you interpret my sleep and you're standing there like an utter idiot and not answering me. Are you stupid?"
"Maybe."
For a second my blood freezes at the coldness of his voice. He stares at me for another beat before slickly moving across and between the pots and pans before reaching the window.
"See you later, solnyshko"
Huh? Yeh Solnyshko Kya hota hai?
Before I can voice the question, he jumps out the window, blending into the night as dark as himself.
